Re-emergence, Gallery NWC, St Leonards 12th - 22nd October, 2023
Re-emergence celebrates the resilience and camaraderie of this group of artists throughout a time that has been unpredictable and, in many cases, extremely challenging.
All artists exhibiting in this show identify as living with a disability, and over the past few years, each artist has had to learn to adapt to new studio spaces and environments, new facilitators and ways of skill-sharing, global, community based and workplace changes that have impacted us all on a daily basis, and in reality, a new way of living.
Re-emergence aims to display the strength, talent and immense adaptability of these artists, and their want to support each other to succeed in their artistic goals in a world that so often does not afford them the time, funding and opportunities that it does so many others.
