Batman and Superman were created in tandem and designed to be shown together. They are one of Oliver’s early explorations into replicating images and adapting or varying them slightly, which has been explored further recently with his print series. Within Batman & Superman, you will find other areas of repetition which emerge in both the artist’s language but also throughout numerous works, including listings of numbers and the alphabet, as well as lists of words starting with the same letter.
